Carlos Mencia
I'm really not sure if I agree or disagree on some of the things that Mencia said. There is no doubt that Carlos is funny, and although some of the things he said in Part One were crude, you could tell by the audience's reaction that they thought it as funny. Something I found very interesting was that he didn't take a stab at only one nationality, he made fun of many of them, including his. Carlos' career is comedy, and therefore I think people hear what he says, and don't get too offended because it's acceptable for him. Although Mencia did plenty of parental criticizing in Part 3, I do think that at times he was a bit too harsh on parents. There are many parents out their who have to deal with situations such as down syndrome and ADHD, and Carlos was not sensitive to that; but then again, he's a comedian, and it's not his job to be sensitive.

Dark Days
One of the greatest things about living in the United States is that there is oppurtuntiy for everyone to succeed in life. Although I was a bit surprised in seeing at how the people in "Drak Days" actually lived, my initial belief still stands. We live in a nation where if you really want to, you could make it. No one has ever said that to become a succseful person you have to attend private school, the best colleges and own expnsive things. We live in a nation that offers free education, and oppurtunites for all its students. Yes, not everyone has the same living conditions, and many people are far worse off than others, but if you really want to, if you have that drive, and that determination, you can make something of yourself, no matter where you live or what your financial status is. In the movie "Dark Days," the characters are indeed poor, and say that they want to move up from their "homeless" status, but yet some of them constantly do drugs, and don't do much to help themsleves. How can you expect to make something of yourself, to better your life, if you won't even help yourself?

Inspired Musings
I first saw the Teen USA videa about a week ago on YouTube. The first thing I thought when I saw this was, "wow this girl is kinda dumb...she should have stoped after the first couple of words that came out of her mouth." Although the interview on the Today Show was probably rehersed, I felt for her. I could understand how someone whould get nervous, mess up there words, and not understand what they themselves are saying. I had sympathy for her becasue I can understand how everyone makes mistakes and how our nerves can somehow get the best of us. I gave her props on trying to save herself from that embarrassing downfall. Interesting enough, as I was begining to write this, I was watching the VMA'S, and Miss South Carolina came on; she basically stood up there and made fun herself. I thought it was a little hypercitical that she said all this stuff during the interview, and then turned around and made fun of everything that she just treid to cover up.

Having Own Blog
I've always been used to typical personal profiles: MySpace and Facebook. I've had a MySpace for a little over two years now, and a Facebook for about six months. I've used these two profiles for various things: posting pictures, playing music, decorating them to my liking, and looking at others photos, music, and layouts; I've basically used Facebook and MySpace for socializing. I think it's going to interesting for me having a personal profile that isn't just social. I am going to be putting things on here that are going to be read in a serious manner by my peers and my professor.
